Hello there! My name is Tymaeus (Ty) Orfanos, and I am running for the Conejo Recreation
and Park District Board, Division 4. Division 4 which includes areas like Wildwood,
Lynn Ranch, Rancho Conejo, Casa Conejo, and parts of Central Thousand Oaks.
Growing up in this area has given me the opportunity to spend time in our parks and to
explore the natural beauty that is our backyard, and let me take advantage of the great
programs through the recreation side of the CRPD, from soccer to fencing, and even a
summer music camp. With my family moving here in 1993, and with me being born in
1996, I have been lucky enough to call this area my home since the day I was born.

Growing up, I went through the local school district. I attended Wildwood Elementary and Redwood Middle Schools, graduated from Thousand Oaks
High School. After High School, I earned two associates degrees at Moorpark
Community College, and later earned my B.S. in Political Science from the
California State University of Channel Islands. While pursuing my degree, I worked a variety of
jobs from a detailer at the Auto Mall on Thousand Oaks Boulevard to a Child Care
Assistant with the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Finally landing with my current
occupation as a Waste/Wastewater Service Worker with the County of Ventura.

I decided to run because I want to be able to give my daughter the experiences I was
lucky enough to have growing up in this area. I want to make sure that all community
members are able to experience the parks and programs provided by the CRPD to the
fullest capacity, providing safe parks for our kids to play in, to making sure
that the parks are welcoming and available to everyone regardless of physical
capabilities. I want to be my community's voice within the CRPD to make sure that every resident
is heard, and that their concerns are met with an open mind. Being able to give back
to the community and to the organization that has a chapter in my life story is an
opportunity I can’t let slide.
